HOW WE WORK

INITIAL PROJECT ORIENTATION & PROGRAMMING

We begin by discussing your overall vision and work together to determine the primary design goals based on your family's lifestyle, requirements and budget. Number of bedrooms, bathrooms, furnishings, equipment, technology, and storage needs will all be defined. We review current property zoning, document existing structures that will remain and prepare preliminary solutions to determine the schematic layout for your new home.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Once the layout of the primary spaces has been determined, the design concepts will be refined and scale drawings will be prepared. The architectural vocabulary of the exterior will be developed and carried throughout the interior of your home.

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS & BUILDING PERMITS

After conceptual work is complete, details for the exterior, interior, millwork, superstructure and mechanical systems will be defined. Construction drawings and specifications are prepared as part of the permit application, bidding package and provide the basis for our construction contract. The plans are submitted to the village for review to ensure compliance with local zoning and building codes. We expedite this process by maintaining communication with plan reviewers.

BIDDING & CONSTRUCTION

During the plan review process, we will obtain bids from our select vendors and craftsmen. Because the plans were prepared by RA our bids are more accurate and complete than other general contractors.

The construction process begins with scheduling material supplies and subcontractors. We present weekly charts which serves to measure our progress and meet deadlines for material selections. Every project is supervised by a full-time construction manager and a member of our architectural staff ensuring that the integrity of the project is maintained. Doug Reynolds visits every job site on a regular basis providing design input and construction expertise.
